CHARLES M. CARR, III received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tulane University in 1984. He subsequently attended Tulane Law School where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1989. Following his graduation, Mr. Carr was licensed in the State of Louisiana and began his practice of law with an insurance defense firm located in New Orleans, Louisiana. His practice in Louisiana concentrated in the areas of personal injury defense, insurance coverage, and maritime law.
In 1994, Mr. Carr moved his practice to Houston, Texas following his admission to the State Bar of Texas. In Texas, his practice has expanded to include non-subscriber, product liability, professional liability, commercial litigation, employment law, and workers’ compensation cases. As first chair, he has successfully tried non-subscriber, Jones Act, premises liability, general negligence matters, insurance “bad faith” and workers’ compensation cases in Texas and Louisiana state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Carr is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, the State of Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, United States District Courts for Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Carr frequently conducts continuing education programs and seminars for insurance professionals and employers.
